The moment Bihar has been waiting for is finally here. On April 14, 2025, the capital city Patna will host the spectacular launch ceremony of the Khelo India Youth Games Bihar 2025. This event isn’t just about sports—it’s about dreams, pride, and Bihar’s bold new identity.
Organized by the Bihar State Sports Authority, the ceremony will witness the grand unveiling of the official logo, mascot, torch, anthem, and jersey of Khelo India Youth Games 2025. Each element has been designed to reflect the spirit of Bihar and the energy of its youth.
Importantly, this event is more than a launch. It marks a major shift in how Bihar promotes sports and nurtures young talent.
To make this launch truly national in scale, top officials from Bihar extended personal invitations in Delhi to leading sports figures and government representatives. These include:
Shri Surendra Mehta, Hon’ble Sports Minister of Bihar
B. Rajendra (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Sports
Ravindran Shankaran (IPS), Director General, Bihar State Sports Authority
They invited a distinguished panel of guests, including:
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports
Raksha Nikhil Khadse, Minister of State for Sports
Sujata Chaturvedi (IAS), Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and DG, SAI
Senior officials from the Sports Authority of India (SAI)
These high-level engagements underscore the importance of this initiative, not just for Bihar, but for the entire country.
Starting May 4 and continuing until May 15, the games will feature over 10,000 participants from across India. They will compete in a wide range of sports disciplines across five cities in Bihar:
Patna
Rajgir
Gaya
Bhagalpur
Begusarai
What’s exciting is the inclusion of E-sports for the first time as a demonstration event. Clearly, Bihar is embracing innovation while staying rooted in tradition.
Although medals matter, this initiative is about much more. Through these games, the Bihar Government aims to:
Upgrade sports infrastructure statewide
Provide national exposure to local talent
Encourage youth participation in sports careers
Build pride in Bihar’s cultural and athletic heritage
Consequently, young players will gain opportunities they never had before. The Khelo India Youth Games will act as a bridge—connecting small-town dreams to national platforms.
This April 14, when the anthem plays and the torch blazes in Patna, it won’t just be an opening—it’ll be a statement. Bihar is ready to lead, inspire, and shine.
