In a state where cricket often overshadow other sports, Phani Bhushan‘s journey as a football pioneer from Bihar stands as a story of passion, vision, and transformation.
Growing up in Bihar, Phani saw untapped football talent all around him—youths who lacked the infrastructure, guidance, and opportunities to chase their dreams. Determined to change this, he founded India Khelo Football (IKF), a non-profit organization with an ambitious goal: to bridge grassroots football with professional pathways, empowering young talents across India.

Phani’s impact with IKF has been nothing short of revolutionary. In its early days, IKF started with trials in 17 cities, but team’s relentless drive soon expanded its reach.
Within a few years, IKF was present in 60 cities and now has plans to reach an astounding 100 cities, ensuring that aspiring footballers from even the most remote parts of India are given a chance to shine. By connecting these players to professional clubs and academies, IKF offers a structured career path previously unavailable to many.

One of the defining moments in IKF’s journey was its collaboration with the Subroto Cup, a prestigious tournament for young footballers. As the scouting partner, IKF has played a crucial role in identifying and nurturing talent on a national scale.
IKF’s partnership with the Robin Hood Army & OYO further exemplifies its commitment to making football accessible to every corner of India, ensuring that the game becomes an instrument of social change.

A significant milestone in Phani’s mission was the establishment of the IKF Centre of Excellence in Hajipur, Bihar. The center, created in partnership with Late Kanhai Shukla Sansthan (SKSSS) and Ansha Football Academy, is a game-changer for the state’s football ecosystem. Under the guidance of Ansha Singh, Bihar’s only female football gold medalist, the center serves as a breeding ground for future champions, providing them with world-class training and mentorship.

Phani Bhushan’s vision goes beyond just winning trophies. He is on a mission to ignite a football movement in Bihar along with ALPHA Sports Academy, championing equal opportunities for all. Under his leadership, local leagues are flourishing, and young footballers from humble beginnings are beginning to make their mark on the global stage. His story is one of perseverance, resilience, and the unwavering belief that sports can be a transformative force in society.
