Yesterday, Patna witnessed a moment that will be remembered for years. The 15th Khelo India Youth Games 2025 came to a spectacular end at the Pataliputra Sports Complex, Kankarbagh, lighting up the city with joy, pride, and pure athletic spirit. From May 4th to May 15th, Bihar hosted this mega youth sporting event with unmatched energy and elegance.
At exactly 6:30 PM yesterday, the stadium erupted in cheers as the closing ceremony began. The electrifying performances, fireworks, and proud moments gave a fitting goodbye to India’s young athletes.
Dignitaries including Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse and Bihar’s Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary graced the stage, applauding the talents who lit up this edition of the Games.
It wasn’t just a closing event—it was Bihar’s declaration that it’s ready to lead India’s sporting future.
Maharashtra clinched the overall title, finishing with an impressive 149 medals—including 56 gold and 45 silver. Their consistent performance across sports like athletics, wrestling, and swimming showed their sporting depth.
Haryana, ever a strong contender, gave a tough fight and secured 107 medals, with 35 gold and 26 silver—earning second place overall.
Rajasthan bagged third place, ending their campaign with 55 medals, including 22 golds—shining in sports like fencing and shooting.
Yesterday’s final matchups were intense.
In boys’ basketball, Tamil Nadu stormed past Delhi to grab bronze.
Meanwhile, Punjab’s girls stunned Maharashtra and added a bronze to their tally.
In the girls’ basketball final, Karnataka defeated Haryana and took home the gold, showing brilliance in teamwork and strategy.
Simultaneously, wrestling and fencing medal matches played out in Patna and Rajgir, keeping spectators on edge till the very last moment.
