In a groundbreaking move, the Bihar government has announced a Special Seed Subsidy Scheme for farmers to support summer crops like maize, mung bean, urad, groundnut, sesame, and sunflower. This initiative aims to empower the agricultural community with high-quality seeds at subsidized rates ranging from 50% to 80%.
Under this scheme, a total of 2,307 quintals of seeds will be distributed to farmers across Bihar. The distribution will include:
- Maize: 760 quintals
- Mung Bean: 1,292 quintals
- Urad: 225 quintals
- Groundnut: 20 quintals
- Sunflower: 10 quintals
Farmers will enjoy subsidies like ₹117.20/kg for mung seeds, ₹144/kg for urad, ₹103.60/kg for groundnuts, ₹204/kg for sesame, and ₹519.52/kg for sunflower. With these savings, they can focus on maximizing their yield and ensuring financial stability.
