In a remarkable development, The Coca-Cola Company, through its bottling partner SLMG Beverages Pvt. Ltd, is set to establish a large-scale bottling plant in Nawanagar, Buxar district. Coca-Cola’s decision to expand its footprint in Bihar comes as part of its global strategy to enhance market presence and cater to rising demand in North India. The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), Govt of Bihar, has allocated 65 acres of land in Nawanagar for this project, following approval from the Project Approval Committee. This expansion is part of SLMG Beverages’ larger investment plan of ₹3,000 crores across its existing territories, with ₹1,235 crores dedicated to the Buxar project alone.
This bottling plant, with an impressive production capacity of 3.24 lakh cases per day, is poised to revolutionize the local economy. The initiative will not only enhance Coca-Cola’s market share in India but also boost local employment, bringing world-class production standards to the region. With this expansion, SLMG Beverages aims to capture 4% of Coca-Cola’s sales in India, contributing 22% of the brand’s volume and 23% in value. This strategic move is expected to push SLMG’s turnover to a whopping ₹7,500 crores by 2024.
