Bihar Shines Loud in Silence: Deaf Athletes Lead Nation in Taekwondo Glory”

When the world listens less, Bihar speaks loudest—through strength, skill, and spirit.
In a historic moment at the 27th National Deaf Senior and 10th Junior & Sub-Junior Championships held at VSSD College, Kanpur, Bihar’s deaf athletes stole the spotlight. With unmatched determination, Bihar claimed both senior and junior taekwondo titles, outclassing competitors from across the nation.

Bihar’s Deaf Champions Break Barriers

Sport isn’t just about medals—it’s about moments, and Bihar created many of them.
Their victories at the national deaf championships are not just triumphs of skill but stories of grit, discipline, and untold potential.

While Punjab finished as the runner-up and Uttar Pradesh and Haryana shared the third spot, it was Bihar’s dominance in taekwondo—both junior and senior categories—that became the highlight of the championship.

Judo Warriors Also Made Their Mark

Besides taekwondo, the championship also hosted intense judo battles, where young deaf athletes showcased astonishing power and technique.
From UP’s Shabnam and Pragati clinching the 44 kg and 48 kg women’s categories to Maharashtra’s Raghunath Prasad and Omkar Suresh dominating the 55 kg and 100 kg men’s groups—every bout was a showcase of unspoken power.

These names deserve applause—not just for the wins, but for the voices they raise for thousands of differently-abled athletes across India.

Kanpur’s Young Fighters Also Emerge Strong

The host city, Kanpur, added local pride to the event. Four young fighters from the UP team gave a stellar performance, winning 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in taekwondo.

  • Krishna Agarwal and Yuvraj Chaurasia – Silver

  • Arman and Srishti Gupta – Bronze

These young warriors, especially from the deaf community, proved that no barrier is louder than passion.

Bihar Is Not Just Competing—It’s Leading a Revolution

This isn’t the first time Bihar has led from the front. But the victory here is different—it reflects a deeper story of empowerment, inclusion, and quiet leadership.
From grassroots training to disciplined dedication, these athletes are rewriting what’s possible for deaf sports in India.

Bihar’s consistent rise in adaptive sports sends a message loud and clear: With the right support, silence becomes strength.
