This vision is soon becoming reality for Madhubani Railway Station. The Indian Railways has approved a ₹20 crore project to completely revamp this vital transport hub by the end of 2025.
Firstly, the station will get a 40-foot-wide new floor designed to prevent waterlogging during monsoons. Earlier, uniform flooring between the station and the adjacent road caused severe water accumulation. However, with advanced design techniques, this issue will soon be history.
Additionally, a new overbridge is under construction to help passengers move effortlessly between platforms. The main gate will shift to a convenient spot in front of the Hanuman temple, easing access for daily travelers.
A two-story building is rising fast, promising modern amenities like new ticket counters, sheltered waiting areas, clean drinking water, and hygienic restrooms. To tackle the parking crunch, the project includes a sturdy parking facility.
Moreover, the station’s walls will be adorned with beautiful Mithila paintings. This unique cultural element will give visitors a distinctive experience, connecting them with Bihar’s heritage.
