Namo Bharat Express might soon zoom into Ara and Buxar — are you ready for the ride?

Bihar’s Next Big Leap in Connectivity: Namo Bharat Extension Proposed!

The wait might be over for Ara and Buxar! A proposal has been sent to the Railway Board to extend the Namo Bharat Express — Bihar’s ultra-modern high-speed metro — beyond Patna, all the way to Buxar, with a crucial stop at Ara.

If approved, this expansion will be a game-changer for daily commuters, students, and businesses alike. With stations like Jaynagar, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Begusarai, and Patna already connected, adding Ara and Buxar to the route means unlocking even more possibilities for faster, smoother travel.

What Makes Namo Bharat So Special?

This is not your regular train. The Namo Bharat Express, currently running between Jaynagar and Patna, boasts:

• A sleek metro-style design

• 16 air-conditioned coaches

• Automatic door lock system

• Mobile charging points

• 120 km/h top speed

Every day, more than 2,000 passengers enjoy this futuristic train ride.

Why Extend to Buxar via Ara?

Smart planning is behind this proposed move. The train remains idle for nearly 5 hours in Patna after its morning arrival. East Central Railway’s Danapur Division suggests extending the service during that idle time — reaching Buxar via Ara — without disrupting its core schedule.

Once this gets the green light, around 600 additional passengers from Ara and Buxar could benefit daily.

Current Timings and Ticket Price

• Departs Jaynagar: 5:28 AM

• Reaches Patna: 10:30 AM

• Returns from Patna: 6:05 PM

• Back in Jaynagar: 11:45 PM

• Fare: ₹85 (General), ₹340 (AC); Fares for Ara & Buxar will be updated post-approval.

This proposal is currently with the Railway Board. Once approved, work will begin on route alignment, station management, and fare structuring.
