Patna Metro Gets a Boost: 397 Engineers Join to Transform Urban Bihar

When promises turn into action, cities rise. That’s exactly what’s happening in Bihar right now.

In a significant move aimed at accelerating infrastructure development, the Bihar Government has deployed 397 Junior Engineers (JEs) across multiple urban departments. This includes Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC), BUIDCO, the Bihar Housing Board, and several municipal bodies.

These engineers are not just numbers. They represent a focused mission to build faster, smarter, and stronger cities across the state.

Fast-Tracking Patna Metro: 19 Engineers Deployed

To speed up the ambitious Patna Metro project, 19 Junior Engineers have joined the PMRC. Among them, 11 are from the civil stream, while 4 each belong to the mechanical and electrical branches. These professionals will work on realigning timelines, coordinating departments, and ensuring seamless implementation of the metro’s priority corridor, which the government aims to launch by 15 August 2025.

Thanks to this strategic deployment, the metro now has a better shot at becoming a functioning reality rather than an unfinished dream.

Urban Development Projects Finally Gain Momentum

Beyond the metro, these engineers will actively support critical urban projects throughout Bihar. Their duties range from improving road networks to enhancing water supply, from managing sewage systems to overseeing public building construction.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Jivesh Kumar stated that the deployment of these engineers will significantly boost work under key schemes such as the Jal Jeevan Hariyali Mission and accelerate progress on facilities like the Samrat Ashok Bhawan.

As a result, citizens across Bihar will begin to notice visible improvements in civic services and urban infrastructure.

Transparent Recruitment and Immediate Joining Orders

The Bihar Technical Services Commission (BTSC) conducted the hiring for these engineering roles. Here’s how the deployment breaks down:

  • 350 Civil Engineers

  • 35 Mechanical Engineers

  • 12 Electrical Engineers

Each engineer has been instructed to report to their designated department within one week, carrying their original documents and verification proof. This immediate onboarding ensures there’s no delay in project execution.

Departments like BUIDCO, municipal corporations, and the Bihar Housing Board are now equipped with fresh talent ready to drive change on the ground.

This Move Signals a Real Shift in Bihar’s Urban Future

For years, development in Bihar has been discussed more than delivered. But this time, it feels different. This isn’t just about policy — it’s about presence. The presence of trained, on-ground professionals ready to put plans into action.

From roads to rails, Bihar’s cities are now entering an era of visible transformation. This step may not fix everything overnight, but it undeniably puts progress back in motion.
