Bihar is making history! The state, often known for its rich heritage, is now carving its name in the global manufacturing sector. Soon, factories in Saran’s Madhepura district will export rail engines to international markets. India’s Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, made this groundbreaking announcement in the Rajya Sabha.
For years, Bihar’s industrial growth remained stagnant due to incomplete projects and abandoned initiatives. Initially, Lalu Prasad Yadav announced the Madhepura factory, but work never started. However, in 2014, the project gained momentum, leading to a remarkable transformation. Today, this factory showcases Bihar’s potential in manufacturing.
The first batch of 100 locomotives will soon reach global markets, marking Bihar’s entry into the international railway industry. This achievement isn’t just about engines—it positions Bihar as a rising powerhouse of innovation and industry.
Indian Railways continues to modernize and expand at a rapid pace. With significant improvements in freight transport and passenger services, the sector is evolving dynamically. Vaishnaw emphasized that freight revenue allows Indian Railways to subsidize passenger fares, making travel more affordable. Compared to neighboring countries like Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Indian railway fares remain significantly lower.
This achievement is only the beginning of Bihar’s industrial transformation. The success of the Madhepura project will attract more investments, create numerous job opportunities, and open doors for global collaborations.
