A Star Rises from Supaul: Mohd. Izhar Joins CSK as a Net Bowler

Cricket fever in Bihar just got hotter! Mohd. Izhar, a talented bowler from Supaul, has secured a prestigious spot as a net bowler for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. His journey from a small village in Supaul to rubbing shoulders with some of the best cricketers in the world is nothing short of inspiring.

The Beginning: Veerpur Kosi Cricket Club

Izhar’s cricket journey started in 2019, when he joined Veerpur Kosi Cricket Club. From day one, his dedication and passion for the sport stood out. Senior players like Jaychand and Birbal recognized his raw talent early on. They played a crucial role in refining his skills, helping him become the fierce bowler he is today.

Hard Work Pays Off: Selection in CSK

His relentless hard work and sharp focus have finally paid off. Being selected as a net bowler for CSK, one of the most successful IPL teams, is a huge milestone. Cricket fans in Bihar are thrilled, seeing it as a big moment for local talent making it to the grand stage.

Family’s Reaction: From Studies to Cricket Stardom

Izhar’s journey wasn’t always smooth. His uncle, Mohd. Jahangir, revealed that the family initially sent him to Veerpur for studies, unaware of his growing passion for cricket. They were concerned that he might waste his time, but his dedication proved them wrong. His father, Mohd. Salauddin, credits Veerpur Kosi Cricket Club’s senior players for shaping Izhar’s career.

Bigger Dreams: Aiming for Team India

Despite this achievement, Izhar isn’t stopping here. His ultimate dream is to represent India at the highest level. “I’m still far from success. My goal is to secure a place in the Indian cricket team,” says Izhar, showing his hunger for greater achievements.

Bihar’s Growing Cricket Scene

Izhar is not the first from Bihar to break into IPL circuits. Earlier, Mayank Yadav from Ratho village, Supaul, was selected for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024. With these young talents making their mark, Bihar is fast emerging as a breeding ground for future cricket stars.
