Key Road Projects in 2025

Bihar is set to complete several crucial road projects this year:

• Muzaffarpur Bypass – Expected to open by February 2025, this bypass will ease traffic congestion in the city.
• Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama National Highway – The four-lane highway, featuring a Road Over Bridge (ROB), will improve regional connectivity.
• Six-Lane Ganga Bridge (Aunta-Simarai) – This bridge, scheduled for completion in February 2025, will enhance cross-river transportation.
• Ashok Rajpath Double-Decker Flyover, Patna – Set to open in March 2025, this project will help decongest urban traffic.
• Saristabad-Nathupur 4-Lane Road – Expected by June 2025, this road will further boost intra-state travel.

Massive Investments in Bihar’s Infrastructure

The central government has allocated ₹60,000 crore in the 2024 budget for Bihar’s infrastructure. This fund will support expressways, airports, power plants, heritage corridors, and sports complexes. Additionally, the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL) is working on five major road projects covering 225 kilometers.

Bridging Bihar’s Connectivity Gap

The Kacchi Dargah–Bidupur Bridge, under construction, will be India’s longest bridge at 9.76 km. Slated for completion by July 2025, it will connect Patna with Hajipur, reducing travel time significantly.
