Bihar’s Railway Transformation: ₹10,000 Crore Mega Investment Reshaping the State!
Bihar is on the brink of a railway revolution! With a staggering investment of over ₹10,000 crore, the state’s rail network is set for an upgrade like never before. Indian Railways is executing 57 high-impact projects, covering 5,346 kilometers of new railway lines, doubling tracks, and converting gauges. This transformation will significantly boost Bihar’s connectivity and economic growth.
The development spree in Bihar’s railway infrastructure is in full swing. Currently, the state witnesses the construction of 167 kilometers of new railway lines every year. Over the past decade, railway authorities have added a remarkable 1,832 kilometers of new tracks, making Bihar’s total rail network comparable to Malaysia’s! This expansion will enhance mobility, stimulate trade, and promote tourism across the region.
Bihar has made history by achieving 100% railway electrification. This milestone not only enhances speed and efficiency but also aligns with India’s vision for a greener and more sustainable railway system. In the last 10 years, engineers have electrified 275 kilometers of tracks, positioning the state as a leader in modernizing rail transport.
Rail passengers in Bihar are in for a treat! Indian Railways is developing 98 Amrit Bharat stations across the state, transforming them into modern hubs with upgraded amenities. With an investment of ₹3,164 crore, these stations will offer enhanced safety, improved waiting areas, and seamless travel experiences. As a result, passengers can expect a more comfortable and efficient journey.
Bihar now operates 12 Vande Bharat trains, connecting 15 districts with high-speed, state-of-the-art services. These semi-high-speed trains are revolutionizing travel, reducing journey times, and providing world-class comfort. Additionally, authorities have introduced an Amrit Bharat Express from Darbhanga, further improving connectivity. This advancement ensures passengers reach their destinations quicker and with greater convenience.
The future looks promising! The government has set a massive ₹90,000 crore investment target to elevate Bihar’s railway infrastructure even further. Plans include installing 1,783 kilometers of Kavach safety systems, which will ensure safer and more efficient train operations.
