This exciting announcement was made by the Chief Minister during his visit to Jhajharpur’s Pragati Yatra on Sunday. The transformation doesn’t stop there—Fulhar, the historic site of Sita and Lord Ram’s first meeting, will soon be developed as a vibrant tourism destination.

Adding to the excitement, 140 projects worth ₹1,100 crore were inaugurated or initiated during this event. The Chief Minister also revealed plans for a ring road to ease traffic congestion in Madhubani city, alongside the construction of an inter-state bus terminal for smoother connectivity.

A Boost for Tourism and Infrastructure

Fulhar’s upcoming development as a tourism hub marks a significant step in celebrating Mithila’s rich cultural heritage. The iconic Mithila Haat at Araria Sangram will undergo further expansion, offering visitors a glimpse of the region’s unique art and crafts.

To address flooding and irrigation concerns, the interlinking of Kamla, Purani Kamla, and Jeevach rivers is on the agenda, ensuring better water management. Strengthening the Bidheswar Sthan and Ugranath canal systems under the Western Koshi Canal project is also in progress.

Industrial Growth and Modernization

A sprawling 500-acre industrial zone near Banagama in Laukahi Block is set to emerge, creating jobs and spurring economic growth. Additionally, key road and bridge projects, including an RoB at Jaynagar and the much-needed ring road connecting Kanakpur to Jagatpur, are in the works.
