Ever imagined jackfruit from Bihar landing in a Dubai mall? It’s now a reality. For the first time, Bihar has exported 1,500 kilograms of fresh vegetables to Dubai, marking a groundbreaking milestone for the state’s farmers and the agri-economy.

On June 5, Cooperative Minister Dr. Prem Kumar flagged off this shipment from Dasrath Manjhi Labor and Planning Institute, Patna. This isn’t just a shipment. It’s a symbol of hard work, strategic planning, and global ambition.

What’s Inside the Shipment? 10 Local Stars

This test shipment contains 10 popular vegetables, grown in Bihar’s fertile soil. These include:

• Jackfruit

• Cauliflower

• Bitter Gourd

• Bottle Gourd

…along with six other seasonal staples. These vegetables are now en route to Lulu Mall, Dubai, via Varanasi Airport.

Who Made It Happen? A Truly Joint Effort

The shipment reflects the collective work of multiple sabji sanghs across Bihar. Among them:

• Harit Sabji Sangh (Patna)

• Tirhut Sabji Sangh (MotiHari)

• Mithila Sabji Sangh (Darbhanga)

• Magadh Sabji Sangh (Gaya)

With support from VEGFED (Vegetable Processing & Marketing Federation) and execution by Fair Exporters Ltd., the vegetables were processed, packed, and sent—showcasing Bihar’s new capability to meet international export standards.

Why This Moment Matters for Bihar and Its Farmers

This is more than just produce on a plane. It’s proof that Bihar can feed not only India but the world. More importantly, it creates opportunities:
