Faith and leadership came together when President Droupadi Murmu visited the sacred city of Gaya Ji in Bihar. Known as a global center of ancestral rituals, the holy land witnessed her performing pind daan for her forefathers.

She arrived early in the morning and walked straight into the temple premises. Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan joined her during this sacred visit, adding further dignity to the occasion.

Rituals of Pitru Paksha

The President remained inside the temple for more than two hours. During this time, she performed every ritual with devotion. Priests guided her through the offerings, chants, and sacred rites of pind daan, which believers say ensure peace for departed souls.

Importantly, the visit coincided with the ongoing Pitru Paksha Mela. Every year, lakhs of devotees reach Gaya Ji during this period. By joining them, President Murmu highlighted the living bond between traditions and modern leadership.

Faith Meets Leadership

After completing the rituals, she offered prayers with folded hands. Soon after, she departed for New Delhi on a special aircraft. However, her time in Gaya Ji sent a strong message. Even the nation’s highest authority bows before the values of culture and faith.

For Bihar, her presence was more than a formal visit. It became an acknowledgment of its spiritual identity and deep traditions. Over centuries, kings, saints, and leaders have performed pind daan in this city. Now, President Murmu has become part of that historic lineage.
