Patna Just Got a Massive Upgrade

3 Big Projects Delivered in June That Are Already Changing Bihar

As July begins, Bihar has stepped into a faster, better-connected future. In just 30 days, Patna received three major infrastructure gifts that are already transforming daily life for lakhs of people.

These aren’t plans. They’re done. They’re working. And they show that Bihar is not waiting anymore — it’s moving.

Raghopur Finally Connected: A Bridge That Ends Decades of Isolation

Until last month, people in Raghopur relied on boats to cross the Ganga. During monsoon, many were cut off from schools, hospitals, and city jobs.

That changed on 23rd June, when a six-lane bridge under the Kacchi Dargah–Bidupur project was inaugurated. It connects Raghopur directly to NH-31, ending the area’s physical and emotional distance from Patna.

This new bridge means:

  • No more boat dependence

  • Year-round access to Patna and Hajipur

  • A chance for rural youth to study, work, and grow without leaving home

Now, Raghopur and nearby Diara villages are truly part of Bihar’s development story.

South Patna Gets Relief: The Mithapur–Mahuli Four-Lane Road is Open

For years, commuters in South Patna faced long jams, narrow roads, and few options.

Now, there’s a new way.

In June, the ₹1400 crore Mithapur–Mahuli–Punpun Four-Lane Road officially opened. Stretching from Bhupatipur to NH-22, this elevated-plus-at-grade road offers smoother, faster travel.

This development brings:

  • Traffic decongestion from old Patna bypass

  • Improved daily commute for thousands

  • A fresh opportunity for real estate, retail, and small businesses in South Patna

It’s not just a road. It’s a path to better planning and more growth in the capital’s southern stretch.

Patna’s First Double-Decker Flyover is Now a Reality

On 11th June, Patna made history with the launch of its first double-decker flyover on Ashok Rajpath. The ₹422 crore structure connects Science College to Kargil Chowk via PMCH.

Before this, Ashok Rajpath was known for traffic chaos — especially near colleges, courts, and hospitals. Now, that daily mess has started to clear.

This new flyover:

  • Separates through-traffic from local traffic

  • Helps students, patients, and professionals save time

  • Improves access to areas like BN College, Mahendru, and PMCH

It’s a sign that Patna is ready to take its place among India’s modern, well-planned cities.

These 3 Projects Aren’t Just Additions — They’re Breakthroughs

Let’s recap what Bihar got in June:

  • A six-lane bridge connecting Raghopur to NH-31

  • A four-lane road easing pressure on South Patna

  • A double-decker flyover modernising Ashok Rajpath

These projects bring speed, safety, and opportunity. They improve access, reduce travel time, and create space for growth.

Most importantly, they send a clear message: Bihar is building momentum.
