Train Runs for the First Time on This Bihar Route – A 75-Year Wait Ends!

“Ek naye Bihar ki patri taiyar ho chuki hai.”
Yes, after over 75 years, a train has finally made its journey on the long-awaited Araria to Galgalia rail route. For the people of Seemanchal, this moment is nothing short of a celebration—a historic first that promises better travel, stronger trade, and a brighter tomorrow.

A Landmark Journey That Rewrites Bihar’s Railway Map

For decades, this region remained disconnected from a direct rail link. Despite being close to the Indo-Nepal border and rich in trade potential, Seemanchal’s demands went unheard. But now, the newly completed Araria-Galgalia railway line has changed that.

On Monday, railway officials, along with Araria MP Pradeep Singh, inspected the route by train. The project, part of the Central Government’s development push, has been completed and awaits a formal inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

MP Pradeep Singh proudly stated, “This was PM Modi’s priority, and today, the dream is finally real.”

What This Train Means for Seemanchal

The impact of this rail route goes far beyond just convenience. It brings real change to the lives of thousands in the region. Here’s how:

  • Lower travel costs make daily commuting easier for students and workers.

  • Reduced travel time means quicker access to education, healthcare, and job opportunities.

  • Boost for local traders, who now find it easier to connect with bigger markets.

  • Improved connectivity near the border enhances possibilities for cross-border trade with Nepal.

This route isn’t just a stretch of tracks—it’s a bridge to opportunity for an entire region.

Could Vande Bharat Be Next?

During the inspection, when asked about running the Vande Bharat Express on this route, MP Pradeep Singh replied with confidence:
“Modi hai toh mumkin hai. The people have asked, and the government will respond.”

This statement brings hope that the high-speed, semi-luxury train may soon become a reality for Seemanchal as well, linking the region even more efficiently with major hubs.

A Step Toward Inclusive Growth

The Araria-Galgalia train route symbolizes more than just tracks and timetables. It reflects the growing commitment to inclusive development, especially in regions that were once seen as “too far” or “too remote.”

With this new route, Bihar takes another bold step toward reshaping its future—one where every district, every border village, and every citizen feels connected and empowered.
