What if your festive journey from Bihar to Delhi, Punjab, or Bengal became smoother, faster, and more affordable?
The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has dropped a massive update. By Durga Puja 2025, over 500 buses will roll out from Bihar to six major states — Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Punjab, and Haryana.
Yes, you read that right. The long wait for a better inter-state travel network is finally over.
Transport officers didn’t rush the decision. Months of route analysis, passenger demand surveys, and inter-departmental coordination went into finalizing this rollout.
The transport secretaries of the six states have already greenlit the plan. Now, final agreements are being drafted to cement these partnerships. Every move has been backed by data and public demand, ensuring long-term viability.
Buses will operate from six key cities in Bihar:
Patna
Gaya
Bhagalpur
Purnia
Muzaffarpur
Darbhanga
These division headquarters will act as ISBT (Inter-State Bus Terminal) hubs. Many of these already run limited inter-state services. For example, Darbhanga to UP, Bhagalpur to Jharkhand, and Purnia to Bengal are existing routes that will now scale up.
To ensure efficiency and quality, buses will run under both government and PPP (Public-Private Partnership) models.
What’s more exciting? Operators joining the PPP model will receive a ₹20 lakh grant per bus. This support is expected to attract serious players and improve passenger experience.
So, not only will buses be more frequent, but they’ll also be cleaner, faster, and better maintained.
Currently, passengers heading from Bihar to other states often travel via indirect train routes. They spend extra time and money reaching state capitals first, then boarding buses to their final destination.
With this rollout, they’ll save both time and money. And more importantly, they’ll travel in dignity during the festive rush — no more overcrowded trains or long waits.
According to BSRTC estimates, 3–7 lakh passengers travel to these six states annually during festival seasons. This plan is crafted to meet that spike without chaos.
This isn’t just about transport. It’s about connection, accessibility, and pride. Bihar is no longer a waiting room for development—it’s becoming the launchpad.
And while this initiative doesn’t carry celebrity names, it’s backed by the untiring work of public servants and transport planners who listened to people first.
