A Bridge of Hope: How a River-Crossing Will Transform Life for Thousands of Bihar Farmers”

“एक पुल से बदलेगा दो ज़िलों का भविष्य, हजारों किसानों को मिलेगी नई राह”
A long-awaited bridge across the Ganga is finally becoming reality—bringing ease, opportunity, and prosperity to farmers of Munger and Lakhisarai.

From Struggles to Solutions: Farmers’ Wait Comes to an End

For years, farmers from the fertile lands of Munger and Lakhisarai have faced immense challenges reaching their farmlands across the river. Carrying seeds, tools, and crops over boats and through unpredictable waters became part of their daily life.

Now, a bridge near Hemjapur is set to change that—connecting Parora Tola to NH-80 and making access smoother, safer, and faster for more than 70,000 bighas of farmland.

Why This Bridge Matters So Much

This isn’t just a piece of infrastructure—it’s a lifeline for villages like Vansipur, Tajpur, Devghara, Amarapur, and Bhidha. These areas are rich in agriculture but isolated by geography.
Farmers here grow a variety of crops like parwal, kakdi, kaddu, kheera, maize, wheat, and ajwain—yet transporting them to markets has always been an uphill task.

The new bridge will change that. It will bring markets closer, reduce crop wastage, and open up new possibilities for trade and livelihood.

The Diara Region: Fertile But Forgotten

The Diara belt—stretching across parts of Munger and Lakhisarai—is known for its rich soil. But crossing the Ganga every day made even basic farming activities difficult.

During floods, the challenges multiplied. Villagers had to travel far for daily essentials, healthcare, and safety. A simple trip to the market or a police station required hours of detour or unsafe river crossings.

With this bridge, the region is finally getting the access it deserves.

Local Voices, Real Hopes

Villagers across the region are hopeful and grateful. Dukhan Mahato from Parora Tola shared, “We’ve lived and farmed here for generations, but getting to our own land was always a challenge. This bridge gives us freedom.”
Ashish Kumar Singh, a youth from Durgapur, added, “It’s more than convenience. It’s about building a better future—for farmers, families, and students.”

The joy is real. The relief is visible.

From Isolation to Inclusion

The bridge will also benefit nearby areas like Khawa, Medani Chowki, and parts of Suryagarha block, which previously had limited access to basic facilities. It will shorten travel time, reduce transport costs, and ensure that even during emergencies, help is within reach.

One bridge. Two districts. Thousands of lives changed forever.
This isn’t just infrastructure—it’s dignity, access, and a better tomorrow for every farmer who has waited decades for this moment.
