Madhubani witnessed the launch of development projects worth ₹13,480 crore. These projects span sectors like housing, railways, electricity, fuel, and women empowerment. The aim is to improve quality of life across Bihar, from urban to rural areas.
Housing remains a major focus. Over 15 lakh rural families have been added as new beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin. Meanwhile, 10 lakh ongoing rural housing projects received additional support. In urban areas, 54,000 new homes have been handed over, while another 1 lakh families received house keys under the PMAY-Urban scheme.
This move directly addresses Bihar’s housing shortage. It brings more people closer to owning a permanent home.
To improve electricity supply, power projects worth ₹1,170 crore have been launched. In addition, new projects under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme will receive ₹5,030 crore in funding. These efforts aim to modernize Bihar’s power grid and make supply more reliable, especially in underserved districts.
Connectivity is getting stronger. New train services now run between Saharsa and Mumbai (Amrit Bharat Express) and between Jaynagar and Patna (Namo Bharat Rapid Rail). Other local train routes such as Pipra–Saharsa and Saharsa–Samastipur also began operations.
Rail lines have been added to Supaul–Pipra, Hasanpur–Bithan, and Khagaria–Alauli. Two-lane overbridges at Chapra and Bagaha will help reduce traffic and improve safety. These additions mark a new phase in Bihar’s transport development.
A modern LPG bottling plant will come up in Hathua, Gopalganj, with an investment of ₹340 crore. The plant includes a rail unloading system for efficient distribution. Once operational, it will improve LPG cylinder supply across north Bihar. Delivery delays are expected to drop significantly.
Bihar now features India’s second Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, after Gujarat. The train connects Jaynagar to Patna. It includes fully air-conditioned coaches and offers over 2,000 seats per train. Since no reservations are needed, daily travel becomes easier and more accessible.
Over 2 lakh self-help groups led by women received financial assistance worth ₹930 crore. These groups help boost local entrepreneurship, especially in rural communities. The fresh funding allows women to expand small businesses, support their families, and build community resilience.
To ensure smooth operations during project launches, security has been increased across the state. Police teams and local officials are working to monitor public areas and maintain order. This ensures that development efforts continue without disruption.
This ₹13,480 crore investment touches every corner of Bihar. It focuses on essentials—homes, power, trains, fuel, and safety—while uplifting women and communities. Madhubani has now become a symbol of Bihar’s renewed energy and vision for inclusive development.
