45 Flight Pairs in Patna’s Summer Schedule – 2 New Air India Flights for Chennai & Bengaluru!

Air travel from Patna is expanding, but some cities are still missing out! While the latest summer schedule introduces 45 flight pairs, travelers to Deoghar, Varanasi, Jaipur, and Bhopal still lack direct connectivity. Will this change soon? Let’s dive into the latest updates from Patna Airport.

Patna Airport’s New Summer Schedule – What’s Changing?

Patna Airport has now expanded operations to 45 flight pairs, increasing from the previous 43 pairs. With this update:

  • Air India Express has introduced new direct flights to Chennai and Bengaluru.
  • Delhi now has 13 flights from Patna, ensuring better frequency.
  • Bengaluru flights have increased from 8 to 9, while Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata also see regular flights.

However, despite these expansions, no direct flights are available for Deoghar, Amritsar, Jaipur, Bhopal, Varanasi, and Prayagraj in this schedule. Travelers heading to these cities still have to rely on layovers.

Flight Timings – First & Last Flights from Patna

Patna Airport operates between 7:35 AM and 11:35 PM, ensuring better flight options throughout the day.

  • The first flight arrives at 7:35 AM from Bengaluru (IndiGo) and departs at 8:10 AM.
  • The first Delhi-bound flight leaves at 8:30 AM.
  • The last arrival (IndiGo) lands at 11 PM from Bengaluru and departs back at 11:35 PM.

This extended operation ensures seamless connectivity for business and leisure travelers.

IndiGo Leads the Market in Patna

With 29 flight pairs, IndiGo dominates the market with a 64% share. Here’s how the summer schedule looks across airlines:

  • IndiGo: 29 flight pairs
  • Air India Express: 8 flight pairs
  • Air India: 5 flight pairs
  • SpiceJet: 3 flight pairs

The dominance of IndiGo highlights its strong presence, but will other airlines step up to bridge the missing routes?

The Need for Direct Flights to Deoghar, Varanasi & More

While cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai now have multiple flights, major pilgrimage and business hubs still lack direct connectivity.

  • Deoghar: A growing religious hub that sees thousands of visitors annually.
  • Varanasi & Prayagraj: Key spiritual and cultural destinations with heavy tourist inflow.
  • Jaipur & Bhopal: Business and tourism centers that need seamless access from Patna.

The demand for these routes is high, and airlines should take note.

What’s Next? Will We See More Direct Flights?

With increasing demand, airlines have the opportunity to add direct flights to these key cities.
