Patna-Arrah-Sasaram Corridor: Bihar’s Game-Changer in Infrastructure Development!

Bihar is set to witness a major transformation! The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given the green light for the 4-lane access-controlled Patna-Arrah-Sasaram corridor (NH-119A). This ambitious 120.10 km project will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) at a total cost of ₹3,712.40 crore.

Why This Corridor Matters?

Currently, traveling between Patna, Arrah, and Sasaram is a nightmare due to congestion on existing state highways. The journey takes around 3-4 hours, with bottlenecks in Arrah town adding to the chaos. This new corridor will change everything!

  • A greenfield expressway will streamline traffic, cutting travel time significantly.
  • A 10.6 km brownfield highway upgrade will enhance connectivity in densely built-up areas like Arrah, Grahini, Piro, Bikramganj, Mokar, and Sasaram.

Seamless Connectivity Across Bihar & Beyond

This corridor isn’t just about faster travel. It’s about boosting Bihar’s connectivity like never before! The project integrates with major highways, ensuring smooth access to:

  • National Highways: NH-19, NH-319, NH-922, NH-131G, NH-120
  • Airports: Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport (Patna) & the upcoming Bihita Airport
  • Railway Stations: Sasaram, Arrah, Danapur, and Patna
  • Inland Water Terminal: Patna

A Boost to Economy & Employment

Beyond infrastructure, this project brings massive economic benefits. It will create 48 lakh man-days of employment, directly and indirectly, opening doors for thousands. The corridor will also:

  • Increase trade efficiency by ensuring seamless movement of goods.
  • Encourage industrial growth in surrounding areas.
  • Enhance real estate & commercial investments in key locations.

Transforming Bihar’s Road Network

Bihar is gearing up for a major infrastructure revamp, and this corridor is a crucial piece of the puzzle. It will facilitate faster movement between Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, and Varanasi, significantly boosting regional development. The initiative aligns with the government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, driving progress across the state.
