Let’s Inspire Bihar: A Movement Towards a Developed Bihar

In a grand celebration filled with hope and determination, ‘Let’s Inspire Bihar’ marked its fourth foundation day as the ‘Viksit Bihar Sankalp Mahasabha’ on March 22, 2025, at Bapu Sabhagar, Patna. More than just a commemoration, it was a collective resolution to transform Bihar into a developed and progressive state.

A Gathering of Visionaries

Over 10,000 dedicated individuals attended this historic event, including intellectuals, academicians, spiritual leaders, university students, youth volunteers, entrepreneurs, and social activists. Attendees traveled from all districts of Bihar, across India, and even from abroad. Notably, Prashant Kumar, an entrepreneur from London, participated.

The movement, led by renowned IPS officer Vikas Vaibhav, has gained immense traction. With a vision to revive Bihar’s civilizational roots in education, equality, and entrepreneurship, ‘Let’s Inspire Bihar’ has emerged as one of the most impactful non-political movements in the state. Since its inception in 2021, over 1,85,000 individuals have pledged to contribute to Bihar’s transformation by 2047.

The Genesis of the Movement

The idea of ‘Let’s Inspire Bihar’ took shape on January 12, 2021, Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. Inspired by interactions with Bihar’s youth, Vikas Vaibhav recognized the urgent need for an awakening to restore the state’s lost glory. On March 22, 2021, at Taramaṇḍal Sabhagar, Patna, the movement was officially launched with a mission to inspire every Bihari to rise above caste, creed, and ideology for the state’s progress.

Vikas Vaibhav’s Vision for Bihar

Speaking at Bapu Sabhagar, Vikas Vaibhav expressed pride in the movement’s journey. He recalled the successful event at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi, which laid the foundation for Bihar’s development roadmap. Seeing thousands of determined individuals fill the venue, he confidently declared, “A new revolution has begun in Bihar. This is not just another movement; this is a historic call for educational, entrepreneurial, and social transformation.”

Vaibhav highlighted Bihar’s per capita monthly income of ₹5028, compared to ₹48000 in Sikkim and ₹32000 in Tamil Nadu. With a growth rate of 14.5%, Bihar needs a stronger push for sustainable progress. “If we continue at this pace, our per capita income will only reach ₹20,000 in the next decade. Do we want Bihar to develop so slowly?” he asked. The audience responded with a resounding “No!”

A Movement Beyond Politics

One of ‘Let’s Inspire Bihar’s’ key aspects is its non-political stance. Vikas Vaibhav reaffirmed that real change comes from societal awareness and action, not political affiliations. “If politics could bring change, I would have joined it first. But true transformation happens through education, entrepreneurship, and equality,” he stated.

He urged people to move beyond caste-based politics and strive for a meritocratic Bihar. Expressing concern over the negative perception of ‘Bihari’ in other states, he emphasized that this collective effort could restore the state’s dignity.

Overcoming Challenges with Resilience

Vaibhav shared personal struggles, including a period of financial uncertainty when he received no salary for four months. His father supported him during this time. Despite challenges, his dedication to Bihar remained firm. “Bihar is at a take-off stage. Now is the time to propel it forward. If we all contribute, nothing can stop this state from rising,” he asserted.

Women Empowerment & Education Initiatives

Highlighting women’s role in Bihar’s transformation, Vaibhav praised the ‘Gargi Chapter’ of ‘Let’s Inspire Bihar,’ which runs 24 education centers across various districts. Women manage 19 of these centers, showcasing their growing leadership in the movement.

He concluded by sharing his contact number with the audience, urging them to join the movement. “Change requires collective effort. Let’s make this movement a people’s revolution.”

The Road Ahead: A Collective Responsibility

As Bihar stands at a turning point, initiatives like ‘Let’s Inspire Bihar’ offer hope. The state, known for its rich history and intellectual legacy, is witnessing a new era of awakening. The ‘Viksit Bihar Sankalp Mahasabha’ was more than an event—it was proof of the power of unity, determination, and vision.

With thousands committed to the cause, Bihar’s journey toward development is no longer a distant dream but an achievable reality. The question remains: Will you be part of this historic transformation?
