To accelerate the ‘Honey Mission’, the Union Minister for MSME personally distributed 2,100 beekeeping boxes, complete bee colonies, and tool kits to 210 beekeepers. This initiative, under the Khadi and Village Industries Development Scheme, aims to generate employment and promote self-sustainability.

During a virtual event from Gaya’s Camp Office, the Union Minister for MSME highlighted the importance of honey production for Bihar’s rural economy. More importantly, he emphasized that beekeeping is not just about honey; rather, it serves as a game-changer for self-employment and rural prosperity.
Beekeeping does not only produce honey—it fosters an entire ecosystem that generates employment. Through its ambitious Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme and Village Industries Development Scheme, the central government ensures that trained individuals receive essential tools to start their ventures. As a result, unemployment in rural Bihar is steadily decreasing.
Both the Bihar government and the Khadi & Village Industries Commission are actively working to transform honey production into a revolution. With government backing, modern technology, and determined beekeepers, Bihar is on its way to becoming a leading honey producer in India.
