Bihar’s Women Farmers Are Driving an Agricultural Revolution!
Imagine a Bihar where women don’t just support farming—they lead it. That future is here! With 52 lakh women farmers adopting modern agricultural techniques and 2,000 Jeevika Didis launching customer service centers, Bihar is setting new benchmarks in rural empowerment.
Women Farmers Shaping the Future of Agriculture
Bihar’s government has set an ambitious goal: by 2025, 52 lakh women farmers will integrate advanced farming techniques. This initiative will not only boost productivity but also improve their financial independence.
To strengthen market access, authorities are linking these women with Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs). Additionally, they are establishing 85 organic farming clusters, promoting eco-friendly methods while ensuring a steady income for women farmers.
Breaking Barriers: Women-Led Service Centers
For years, men dominated customer service centers in Bihar. But now, 2,000 Jeevika Didis will run these centers, delivering banking and digital services to rural communities.
To support this shift, the government is facilitating ₹10,000 crore in bank loans for these women entrepreneurs. Deputy CM & Finance Minister Samrat Choudhary announced this financial push in the 2025-26 budget speech, underscoring Bihar’s commitment to women’s economic participation.
Expanding Livelihoods: Beekeeping & Dairy Farming
Beyond agriculture, Bihar is helping women gain financial independence in other sectors:
🐝 Beekeeping Boom – Over 11,789 women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are now beekeeping entrepreneurs, producing more than 2,724.7 tons of honey so far.
🥛 Dairy & Animal Husbandry – The government plans to connect 10 lakh families with dairy farming by 2025, increasing rural incomes.
₹150 Crore Boost for Women Entrepreneurs
Bihar is also investing in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to expand financial opportunities. This year alone, the government is providing ₹150 crore in funding, supporting 1.03 lakh new SHGs and impacting 20 lakh families.
