₹820 Crore Nalanda Transformation: A Leap Towards Progress
Bihar is witnessing a new era of development as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar rolls out projects worth ₹820.72 crore in Nalanda. This massive initiative, part of his Pragati Yatra, focuses on uplifting the region with better education, infrastructure, and tourism.
Development at Full Throttle
During his visit, CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated 177 completed projects worth ₹361.66 crore. Additionally, he laid the foundation stones for 86 new schemes amounting to ₹459.05 crore. These projects cover key sectors such as education, roads, flood control, and tourism, ensuring a comprehensive boost to the district.
Strengthening Education & Opportunities
Education remains a priority in this transformation. The inauguration of the Extremely Backward Class Residential Girls’ School in Sabait Panchayat marks a significant milestone. This institution will provide quality education to underprivileged students, helping them shape a brighter future. Moreover, CM Nitish Kumar personally interacted with students in the school’s robotics lab, inspiring them to aim higher.
Upgrading Roads & Connectivity
Better roads lead to better opportunities. Recognizing this, the government has launched multiple road-widening projects to improve connectivity between Nalanda and nearby districts. These upgraded roads will reduce congestion, facilitate faster travel, and enhance trade and employment prospects.
Tackling Flooding with Advanced Solutions
Flood control is another major focus. To prevent waterlogging and damage, authorities have introduced anti-erosion measures along the Lokaeen River. Additionally, the Panchane River irrigation scheme is undergoing renovations, ensuring farmers receive uninterrupted water supply.
Boosting Tourism & Heritage Conservation
Nalanda’s rich heritage is set to attract more visitors. The government is developing attractions such as J P Udyan, Venu Van, and Ghora Katora. Furthermore, the upcoming dinosaur park will add an exciting element to the tourism scene, drawing families and history enthusiasts alike.
Empowering Women Through Self-Help Groups
Women-led self-help groups (SHGs) are playing a vital role in this transformation. CM Nitish Kumar distributed financial assistance to SHG members, enabling them to start small businesses and gain financial independence. This step strengthens rural economies and promotes women’s empowerment at the grassroots level.
