Bihar’s Higher Education Revolution: Central Government’s ₹126 Crore Investment
In a groundbreaking move, the Central Government has allocated a substantial ₹126 crore to enhance Bihar’s higher education sector. This investment aims to transform academic institutions, fostering a more robust and dynamic educational environment.
Key Beneficiaries: Patna University and L.N. Mithila University
Patna University (PU) and L.N. Mithila University (LNMU) are set to receive ₹100 crore each under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA). This funding will enable these universities to evolve into Multidisciplinary Education and Research Universities (MERUs), promoting a comprehensive academic framework. PU’s Vice-Chancellor, Ajay Kumar Singh, expressed immense pride, stating that this grant will rejuvenate the 107-year-old university’s legacy and elevate its national standing.
