In conjunction with the Shaurya Sainik Jhanda Diwas 2024, the Bihar government has announced major changes in the grants and honours given to soldiers and ex-servicemen staying in Bihar. This honest gesture marks the state’s unwavering gratitude to those who protect our motherland with valor.
The new rewards for the winner are as follows:
- Param Vir Chakra: ₹10 lakh increased to ₹1 crore
- Ashok Chakra: ₹8 lakh to ₹75 lakh
- Maha Vir Chakra: ₹5 lakh to ₹50 lakh
- Kirti Chakra: ₹4 lakh raised to ₹20 lakh.
- Vir Chakra: ₹2 lakh to ₹9 lakh
- Shaurya Chakra: ₹1.5 lakh increased to ₹8 lakh.
- Sena/Nau Sena/Vayu Sena Medal (Gallantry): ₹75,000 increased to ₹5 lakh
- Sena/Nau Sena/Vayu Sena Medal (Distinguished Service): ₹50,000 increased to ₹2 lakh
- Param Vishisht Seva Medal: ₹75,000 raised to ₹7.5 lakh
- Uttam Yudh Seva Medal: ₹1.5 lakh increased to ₹4.5 lakh
- Ati Vishisht Seva Medal: ₹1 lakh to ₹3 lakh
- Yudh Seva Medal: ₹ 75,000 to ₹2 lakh
- Sena/Nau Sena/Vayu Sena Medal (Distinguished): ₹50,000 increased to ₹1 lakh
Along with this financial grant, the government of Bihar has also sanctioned the enhancement of district ex-servicemen welfare offices from 13 to 25, ensuring increased access and services to ex-servicemen and their families.
