Unveiling a Legacy of Bravery and Selflessness

Bihar has produced not only great poets and revolutionaries but some of the finest soldiers of India. Bihar Regiment is a symbol in itself of chivalry and unyielding spirit inherent in the Bihari legacy, the very foundation of the Indian Army.

Anchored in history and molded through hardships.

From its early days in the British Indian Army, where it was appreciated for its absolute loyalty and gallantry, to the border of India today, every step of Bihar Regiment has epitomized sacrifice.

Legacy in the Gallantry Awards

In addition, their gallantry awards in the form of Ashok Chakras, three Maha Vir Chakras, and countless Kirti and Vir Chakras that they have collected in great numbers testify to their acts of valour. Their bravery is not a match anywhere, such as in the 2020 Galwan Valley clash wherein Bihar Regiment soldiers fought to save sovereignty against aggression by China to even the extent of getting killed in battle.

Beyond the Battlefield: A Call to Action

Lieutenant General Abhay Krishna (Retd) went to great pains to remind the sacrifices by the regiment, but also its unappreciated potential. His discipline and experience seem to have the potential of being substantially useful in the process of nation-building, both in terms of rural development and cultural preservation.

Beyond mere historical significance, a Foundation of Bihar’s Identity. They are, for each citizen of Bihar, more than a lesson in history; they comprise a pride and inspiration pretty deep. Acquiring and sharing stories of the Bihar Regiment is not only a gesture towards honoring our heroes but also a responsibility we owe to those who labor hard guarding our country.
