Bihar News: ₹769.63 Crore Urban Projects Announced, Maurya Mandapam Lights Up Patna

Patna turned festive with a wave of development. A brand-new Maurya Mandapam opened its doors for the public, while 33 districts across Bihar received projects worth ₹769.63 crore. Together, these launches showcase not only infrastructure progress but also a lifestyle upgrade for people across the state.

Maurya Mandapam: A New Lifestyle Destination in Patna

The Maurya Mandapam is more than a building; it is a cultural and entertainment hub. Constructed at a cost of ₹15 crore by Patna Smart City Limited, it combines leisure, health, and food experiences.

Importantly, its design stands out:

  • A pillar-less rooftop banquet hall built with steel frame technology covers 12,000 sq. ft.

  • An insulated roof lowers the inside temperature by almost 10°C, even during peak summer.

  • A two-screen multiplex allows 40 viewers per screen to enjoy films at the same time.

  • A stylish rooftop restaurant seats 80 diners with an unmatched view.

  • A gaming zone for children keeps young visitors engaged.

  • A gym and yoga center provide modern fitness and wellness options.

As a result, the Mandapam is set to become the go-to destination for families, celebrations, and cultural events in Patna.

Bihar’s Urban Push: ₹769.63 Crore Projects in 33 Districts

Alongside this launch, Bihar rolled out 1,300 urban development projects worth ₹769.63 crore under the Comprehensive Urban Development Plan.

The highlights include:

  • ₹124.44 crore invested in road construction and repair within Patna Municipal Corporation limits.

  • ₹69.97 crore used for building six mechanized solid waste transfer stations, improving waste management.

  • New Swachhta Express vehicles introduced to boost cleanliness drives.

Because of these projects, Bihar’s cities will gain better infrastructure, stronger connectivity, and cleaner surroundings.

Honoring the Backbone of Urban Cleanliness

At the event, sanitation workers received recognition for their dedicated service. Sulekha Devi, Malti Devi, Shravan Kumar, Ajay Paswan, and Savita Devi stood proudly as they accepted appreciation certificates. Their recognition underlined a simple truth: Bihar’s progress depends on its people.

Bihar’s Growth Story: Modern, Inclusive, and Citizen-Centric

From roads and waste management to cultural landmarks and wellness spaces, Bihar’s new projects reflect a broader vision. They promise not just improved facilities but also a better quality of life. Moreover, by honoring sanitation workers and appointing fresh city managers, the event highlighted inclusivity and people-first governance.
