Patna Airport Gets Bihar Emporium: A Global Gateway for Madhubani, Sikki, and Bihar’s Timeless Arts

Bihar’s Culture Takes Flight from Patna Airport

Imagine stepping off a flight at Patna’s Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport and being welcomed not just by the city’s charm, but also by centuries of tradition. On 23rd September 2025, Industries Minister Nitish Mishra inaugurated the brand-new Bihar Emporium.

This initiative goes beyond opening a store—it is Bihar’s cultural passport to the world.

Bihar Emporium: A Treasure Trove of Heritage

Travelers entering the Emporium will discover a showcase of Bihar’s artistry. Madhubani paintings, Sikki craft, and Manjusha art line the walls with vibrant stories. Moving further, one can admire Tikuli paintings, stone carvings, woodwork, and delicate ceramic crafts.

What makes it special is that these treasures are not just on display. Visitors can purchase them, carrying a living piece of Bihar’s culture across the globe.

Empowering Bihar’s Artisans on a Global Stage

Speaking at the inauguration, Nitish Mishra emphasized that the Emporium creates opportunities for artisans. Instead of remaining limited to local fairs, their craft will now reach international travelers and buyers.

As a result, artisans gain access to broader markets, sustainable incomes, and new recognition. Moreover, this shift bridges the gap between tradition and modern demand, giving Bihar’s artisans a stronger foothold in today’s economy.

A Step Towards Atmanirbhar Bihar

The launch also reflects the government’s wider vision for cultural revival. Senior officials like Additional Chief Secretary Mihir Kumar Singh and Secretary B. Karthikeya Dhanji joined the event, signaling serious commitment to artisan empowerment.

Every artifact on sale is more than just a product—it represents resilience, imagination, and heritage. And now, with an outlet at Patna Airport, those stories begin a journey far beyond Bihar.
