Bihar Women to Get ₹10,000 Support to Start Work of Their Choice, Plus Aid Up to ₹2 Lakh

Bihar is creating new opportunities for women with a fresh livelihood scheme. The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana will support one woman in every family to begin her own work and grow it with financial assistance.

How the Scheme Works

Each selected woman will receive ₹10,000 as the first instalment to start her chosen occupation. Applications will open soon, giving women from both rural and urban areas equal access.

The Rural Development Department will lead the program. At the same time, the Urban Development and Housing Department will provide support wherever required. Unlike older schemes, this one ensures direct transfers into bank accounts, beginning as early as next month.

More Than Seed Money – A Growth Path

Importantly, the support doesn’t stop at the first instalment. Six months after she starts, every beneficiary will go through an assessment. If she needs more help, she can receive up to ₹2 lakh in additional assistance.
