Ever imagined walking into a place where science isn’t just in books, but all around you—ready to be touched, seen, and experienced? That dream is turning real in Patna.
By the end of this August, Bihar is all set to welcome one of its most exciting educational spaces yet — the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Science City, a place built for curious students, passionate teachers, and every science lover out there.
This isn’t just any building. It’s a tribute to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the People’s President and one of India’s most loved scientists. The science city is coming up near Moin-ul-Haq Stadium and spreads across a huge 20.5 acres.
The idea? To make science exciting, hands-on, and real for everyone — whether you’re in Class 5 or 50 years old.
The Building Construction Department, under Secretary Kumar Ravi, has already completed the civil work. Now, they’re racing to finish the final installations.
Inside, you’ll find five awesome galleries, each one made to spark your imagination:
Be a Scientist
Basic Science
Sustainable Planet
Space and Astronomy
Body and Mind
Each gallery has exhibits that don’t just talk about science — they let you experience it.
In the first phase, they’re adding 47 exhibits. You’ll see cool things like AI, machine learning, data science, and even the golden ratio come alive.
This isn’t just for studying — it’s for exploring.
Think it ends with galleries? Nope. The Science City also has:
A 4D theatre for those mind-blowing science visuals
A 500-seat auditorium for events and student programs
A dormitory that can host 150 students and teachers
A cool selfie point, cafeteria, clean washrooms, digital murals, and parking
So whether you’re there to learn or just hang out with your family on the weekend — this place will have something for you.
For years, students in Bihar have looked to other states for big science museums and hands-on exhibits.
Now, we’re getting one of our own — and it’s going to be world-class.
This science city is more than infrastructure. It’s an opportunity. A spark. A safe space where kids can fall in love with learning again. It’s also set to become a magnet for schools, colleges, tourists, and science clubs from across India.
Officials say most of the physical work is done. The exhibit installations are moving fast. With just weeks to go, excitement is building — not just in Patna, but across the state.
Bihar is proving once again: we’re not behind — we’re building ahead.
