Bihar Approves ₹23.56 Cr to Empower Organic Farmers in 12 Districts Under Namami Gange

In a major boost to organic farming and sustainable agriculture, Bihar has sanctioned ₹23.56 crore under the Namami Gange Cleanliness Campaign. This initiative covers 12 districts located along the Ganga river, offering hope and financial assistance directly to thousands of farmers.

A Clear Push for Eco-Friendly Agriculture

This fund is part of the Traditional Agricultural Development Scheme (PKVY) for 2025–26. Implemented across key panchayats in the Ganga belt, the move aims to improve not just yield but also soil health and food safety.

Farmers in Begusarai, Patna, Samastipur, Buxar, Saran, Katihar, Bhojpur, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Munger, Vaishali, and Lakhisarai will benefit from this program. Each eligible farmer can receive assistance for up to two hectares of land.

What’s in It for Farmers?

Under the scheme:

• ₹16,500 per hectare will be directly transferred to farmers for organic inputs and related components.

• ₹2,500 per hectare will be provided to certified service providers for support and execution.

• Funding will go straight into bank accounts—no middlemen, no delays.

• Training and PGS-based certification will also be part of the process, making the produce market-ready and trusted.
