Fast, affordable, and built for Bharat — that’s the new promise on rails.
In a major leap for rail connectivity and comfort, four new Amrit Bharat Express trains have been launched in Bihar, offering passengers a fresh, upgraded travel experience. Designed with the common traveller in mind, these trains aim to bridge distances while ensuring comfort and accessibility for cities often left behind.
Each route has been carefully planned to serve key regions in Bihar and nearby states:
Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna) to New Delhi
Bapudham Motihari to Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal)
Darbhanga to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar)
Malda Town to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) via Bhagalpur
These routes will not only benefit regular passengers but also help students, job seekers, and business travellers looking for dependable rail options.
The launch of these trains is part of an ongoing effort to modernise India’s vast rail network. With Bihar being a crucial hub of mobility in eastern India, the Amrit Bharat Express ensures:
Lower fares
Reliable service
Comfort-focused coaches
Wider access to tier-2 and tier-3 towns
These trains are configured to cater to real needs—more seats, more safety, and better amenities:
8 Sleeper Coaches for budget-friendly overnight travel
11 General Coaches to serve maximum passengers
2 Luggage-cum-brake Vans for better safety and storage
1 Pantry Car for onboard meals
It’s a balance of affordability and functionality—perfect for long-distance routes.
From July 31, 2025, Train No. 22361/22362 will begin daily service:
22361: Departs Rajendra Nagar Terminal at 7:45 PM → Arrives New Delhi at 1:10 PM next day
22362: Departs New Delhi at 7:10 PM → Arrives Rajendra Nagar Terminal at 11:45 AM next day (from August 1)
Earlier, a special service on July 18 marked the route’s launch, running from Patna to Delhi and back over two days.
People across Bihar—especially in cities like Motihari, Darbhanga, and Bhagalpur—have long awaited a reliable, economical rail option. These new trains finally offer that, with:
Better night-travel options
Daily frequency
Wider seating capacity
For students traveling to Delhi for exams, or for families visiting relatives in Lucknow—this is a major upgrade.
This isn’t just a new service—it’s a step towards equal transport access. These trains offer a fair chance for small-town passengers to connect with big-city opportunities. That too, without burning a hole in their pockets.
As Bihar’s mobility story evolves, it’s these quiet, structural improvements that leave the biggest impact.
