“Ab Bihar sirf ruke nahi, chalega bhi tezi se — on new tracks of progress!”
Bihar’s railways just received a massive upgrade. With 8 new trains and over ₹6,000 crore worth of infrastructure projects lined up, the state’s connectivity is shifting gears.
This isn’t just about new schedules—it’s about new possibilities. Daily life, commerce, education, and healthcare all move on the same tracks. Now, those tracks are expanding.
Let’s break it down clearly.
Bihar will soon see the launch of 8 new trains, which include:
5 long-distance trains
3 local trains running between Araria and Galgalia, expected to start within 1–2 months
Additionally, the following Amrit Bharat routes will be operational soon:
Patna – New Delhi (Daily)
Darbhanga – Lucknow (Weekly)
Malda Town – Lucknow (Weekly)
Saharsa – Amritsar (Amrit Bharat Service)
Jogbani – Erode, enhancing North-South rail access
Clearly, this opens new doors for thousands of daily commuters and inter-state travelers. Especially during festivals or emergencies, these additions will ease travel burdens.
Besides the trains, Bihar’s railway infrastructure is getting a major push with three key projects:
₹1,156 Cr: 53-km Bhagalpur–Jamalpur third line
₹2,017 Cr: 104-km Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir–Tilaiya line doubling
₹3,000 Cr: 177-km Rampurhat–Bhagalpur line doubling
Together, these projects exceed ₹6,000 crore and aim to increase capacity, improve safety, and reduce travel time. In fact, better rail logistics often lead to smoother economic activities—especially for local businesses and farmers.
These changes go far beyond just steel and stations. They touch lives:
Students won’t need to wait endlessly for long-distance trains.
Workers from Seemanchal and Mithilanchal will reach metros with ease.
Families separated by miles will find more ways to reconnect.
Small business owners can move goods faster across the country.
Most importantly, Bihar is no longer just a boarding point—it’s becoming a critical transit hub.
The train announcements and upcoming infrastructure changes reflect one thing clearly: Bihar is moving forward—on tracks, with purpose.
