Want to Reach Patna in Just 3 Hours? This Bihar Transport Revolution Will Shock You!”

“अब पटना हर कोने से सिर्फ तीन घंटे में!”

The Bihar government has secured a historic win. The Railway Ministry just approved 223 Road Over Bridges (ROBs). As a result, anyone across Bihar can now reach Patna within 3½ hours. This massive connectivity milestone is already reshaping travel and transit statewide

 National Approval and Local Thanks

Transport Minister Nitin Naveen expressed deep gratitude to the Center and the Railway Ministry. Furthermore, he highlighted Bihar’s full technical and administrative backing to ensure smooth progress

How This Plan Takes Shape

A review meeting chaired by top officials—like Mihir Kumar Singh (ACS, Roads) and Naveen Gulati (Railway Board)—led to DPR approval for 12 ROBs/RUBs across key districts  These include:

  • Saharsa (104B1)

  • Chhapra (47spl)

  • Sitamarhi (55C/3)

  • Gaya (39/C/T, 8/C)

  • Lakhisarai (24/A/E, 27/B/T)

  • Jamui (36)

  • Munger (17/A/E)

  • Aurangabad (28/B, 23/C/T)

  • Muzaffarpur (123)

DPR Pipeline & NOCs

In addition:

  • DPRs for another 48 ROBs are ready and pending approval by next month.

  • Teams are working on 112 more DPRs simultaneously

  • From March to May, Bihar secured NOCs for all 223 railway crossings. It also covered 236 of 259 LC crossings under various departments.

 Countdown to 3.5‑Hour Patna Rides

Minister Naveen made it clear: once these 223 ROBs are ready, travel time to Patna from any district will reduce to under 3 hours 30 minutes. Consequently, traffic jams at level crossings will vanish—making road travel faster and safer.

Why This Matters for Bihar

  • Efficiency boost: Less waiting time at railway gates means faster commutes.

  • Road safety: Overpasses eliminate dangerous clashes between trains and vehicles.

  • Economic uplift: Better connectivity drives trade, business, and mobility.

Together, these projects mark a major transformation in Bihar’s transportation landscape.
