Sitamarhi’s ₹21.64 Cr Road Revolution: 20-Foot-Wide Ring Road to Free City from Traffic Woes!
Sitamarhi’s Traffic Nightmare Is Finally Meeting Its End
If you’ve ever been stuck in Sitamarhi’s chaotic traffic, you know the struggle is real. But not for long. The city is now gearing up for a game-changing transformation — a 20-foot-wide road on the Ring Bandh that promises to untangle decades of congestion.
Thanks to the Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme, ₹21.64 crore has been approved, and the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUDCO) is set to begin work without delay.
Approved Funds, Clear Plan, Quick Execution
Unlike the slow-moving proposals of the past, this project is already in motion. Engineers have completed the road measurements, and funds have been allocated with clear intentions.
-
₹14.85 crore will fund the blacktopping from the old post-mortem house to Paswan Chowk, Ganinath Mandir, and Ambedkar Chowk.
-
₹6.79 crore will go into constructing a wide, smooth road from Kaparol Gumti to the Ambedkar statue via Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir and Riga Road.
This isn’t just an upgrade — it’s a strategic push toward a more connected Sitamarhi.
Stronger Connectivity, Smoother City Life
With the new Ring Road in place, outer areas of the city will finally connect more efficiently. Traffic from major junctions like Gaushala Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, and the Chakmahla Bus Stand will reroute through the Ring Road, drastically reducing congestion inside the city.
Additionally, buses — especially those starting from the city’s primary stands — will find easier routes for operation. This improvement directly affects thousands of daily commuters who will now enjoy faster, hassle-free movement.
When Roads Save Lives: Emergency Access Gets Priority
The new road won’t just ease traffic — it will save lives. Emergency services, including ambulances and fire brigades, will benefit from this streamlined route. No more losing precious minutes in traffic.
To ensure swift progress, the District Magistrate has already inspected the key points and asked the Road Construction Department to fast-track the DPR (Detailed Project Report). With this proactive approach, the administration has made clear its commitment to execution.
Big Roads, Bigger Economic Impact
When traffic flows better, businesses grow faster. That’s what Sitamarhi is aiming for. This new infrastructure will do more than help people travel — it will boost economic activity.
Industries and commercial areas around the city will benefit from smoother logistics, faster delivery, and better access. As a result, the local economy stands to gain momentum.
District Magistrate Richa Pandey emphasized this, stating that the upcoming roads will not only improve traffic and water management but also spark growth in trade and commerce.
Why This Project Matters More Than Ever
-
It decongests internal city roads.
-
It connects outer city areas faster and more safely.
-
It supports emergency and essential services.
-
It accelerates economic and commercial growth.
With the DPR ready and tenders going live soon through e-tendering, Sitamarhi is on the verge of a major leap forward.
