Daring & Determined: How 7 Young Men from Bihar Reached Maha Kumbh by Boat!

When the roads were choked with endless traffic, seven fearless young men from Bihar found an extraordinary way to reach Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh Mela—by sailing 275 km on the Ganga! Their journey wasn’t just about avoiding gridlocks; it was a thrilling adventure fueled by innovation, perseverance, and an unbreakable bond with the sacred river.

Beating Traffic With a Bold Idea

With the Maha Kumbh attracting millions, the highways to Prayagraj turned into parking lots. But Manu Chaudhary, an experienced boatman from Kamhariya village, had a game-changing idea—why not take the river instead?

Along with his friends Sumant, Sandeep, Sukhdev, Aadu, Ravindra, and Ramesh, he prepped a motorized boat, stocked it with essentials, and set sail from Buxar, Bihar. What started as a practical solution soon became an unforgettable voyage of faith and resilience.

Navigating the Ganga: A Modern-Day Pilgrimage

The 275-km water journey wasn’t just about rowing—it required smart navigation. Using Google Maps, they charted their path, just like highway commuters. Even in pitch darkness, technology guided them through the river’s winding course.

They planned meticulously, carrying a gas cylinder, stove, food supplies, and even an extra engine as a backup. Every detail mattered because the round-trip covered approximately 550 km and took 84 hours!

A Journey of Faith & Grit

For these young men, the trip wasn’t just about reaching Maha Kumbh—it was a tribute to the Ganga’s eternal spirit. Their journey showcased the perfect blend of tradition and technology, courage and calculation.

As their boat touched the ghats of Prayagraj, they didn’t just arrive at the Maha Kumbh; they made history on the Ganga’s mighty waves.
