Bihar’s Cities to Get a Hi-Tech Makeover with ₹32,000 Crore Purvodaya Yojana!

Imagine a Bihar where every city becomes smarter, greener, and more efficient. With the Purvodaya Yojana, this vision is turning into reality! The government has allocated ₹32,000 crore to upgrade 120 cities, ensuring a transformation like never before. As a result, urban life will see massive improvements.

Major Urban Developments Under Purvodaya Yojana

Revolutionizing Drainage & Sewage Systems

No more waterlogging and sanitation woes! The government has dedicated ₹11,168 crore to improve sewage treatment plants (STP) and drainage systems. Consequently, this investment will significantly enhance hygiene and urban living standards.

Better Roads, Smoother Commutes

Infrastructure is the backbone of any developed city. To make commuting safer and more efficient, the state will build new roads and highways while repairing existing ones. A dedicated fund of ₹7,560 crore will ensure smoother connectivity and ease congestion.

Uninterrupted Clean Water Supply

Say goodbye to water shortages! The Har Ghar Jal initiative will receive ₹2,076 crore, allowing every home access to clean drinking water. Furthermore, this step will ensure better public health and hygiene.

Greener & More Beautiful Cities

Urban spaces will soon be more eco-friendly. Every municipal body will develop two new parks, making cities greener and healthier. For this purpose, ₹720 crore has been allotted to beautification and sustainability projects.

Preserving Water Bodies & Rainwater Harvesting

Water conservation is crucial for Bihar’s future. To tackle this, the government will invest ₹1,200 crore in constructing two reservoirs in each city. As a result, water availability and rainwater harvesting will improve significantly.

Smart Tech for Smarter Cities

Modern governance requires modern tools! The plan includes GIS mapping, master planning, and property tax surveys, with an investment of ₹60 crore. Consequently, these efforts will improve urban planning and governance efficiency.
