Bihar Gov Announces One Crore Jobs in Five Years

Bihar Sets Ambitious Target of One Crore Jobs — A New Promise of Growth and Dignity for Every Household

When a state begins talking about jobs in crores, people listen. Yet in Bihar, this announcement feels different. It feels personal. It feels like hope arriving at the doorstep of every young dreamer.

A Clear Roadmap for Jobs and Growth

During the joint address to the State legislature, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan outlined a bold goal — one crore new jobs within five years. He stressed that the administration has already created 50 lakh opportunities, and now aims to double its impact.

Moreover, he backed this vision with updates on welfare schemes, community upliftment, and agricultural gains. These points gave citizens a clearer picture of the direction Bihar wants to move in.

He highlighted ongoing initiatives for women, farmers, and youth. As a result, the roadmap feels more practical than political. It looks like a plan stitched together with real issues at its core.

Women’s Empowerment Driving Social Change

Bihar has taken several steps to uplift women. The Governor emphasised the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojna, under which thousands of women have already received a support amount of ₹10,000. He added that the scheme will soon reach more eligible beneficiaries.

Additionally, he spoke about significant representation for women. There is 50% reservation in local bodies and 35% reservation in government jobs and police services. These measures ensure that women not only participate but also lead.

Uniforms and bicycles for girls continue to boost attendance in schools. These initiatives help bridge long-standing gaps in access and opportunity. Consequently, more girls enter classrooms with confidence.

Electricity, Harmony, and Community Well-Being

The Governor mentioned that every household receives 125 units of free electricity each month. This relief reaches people across all communities — from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to OBC, EBC, General, and minority groups. Because of this, many families experience reduced monthly burden.

He also spoke about efforts to maintain harmony through fencing of worship areas and graveyards. These steps help communities feel safer and more respected. They also reduce conflicts around shared spaces.

Agriculture Takes Centre Stage With Higher Yields

Agriculture remains the backbone of Bihar. Therefore, the Governor dedicated part of his speech to its rapid transformation. He highlighted that paddy, wheat, and maize production has doubled, while fish production has increased 2.5 times.

Furthermore, the fourth Agricultural Road Map has received a massive approval of ₹1.62 lakh crore. With this investment, farmers will get infrastructure, training, and support for better harvests.

These changes strengthen the vision of a more self-reliant Bihar. They also create indirect jobs across villages, markets, and supply chains.

Leadership Highlights From the Assembly Session

During the session, Nitish Kumar was named Leader of the Assembly, while Tejashwi Yadav assumed the role of Leader of the Opposition. Narendra Narayan Yadav was elected Deputy Speaker. Meanwhile, Prem Kumar took charge as the new Speaker of the Assembly.

Although technical issues disrupted part of the Governor’s address, the Speaker assured strict action. Despite the glitch, the message reached the people — Bihar wants to move forward with fresh energy and urgency.
