Bihar’s Women Get a Festive Gift: ₹10,000 Each Under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana

Across Bihar, thousands of women are stepping into a new chapter of independence. The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana 2025 has credited ₹10,000 directly into the accounts of 75 lakh women. This support is not just financial aid; it is a confidence boost, a chance to begin small businesses, and a way to build stronger households.

From Dreams to Businesses

The scheme is designed to encourage women to explore entrepreneurship. With the first installment, women can set up or strengthen small ventures like:

  • Fruit, juice, or dairy stalls

  • Grocery or stationery shops

  • Tailoring, clothing, or footwear outlets

  • Beauty parlors and artificial jewelry stores

  • Mobile recharge and repair outlets

  • Poultry, goat farming, or dairy farming

  • E-rickshaw or auto-rickshaw services

These businesses may appear small, but they hold the power to transform family incomes and inspire confidence in women who once had limited opportunities.

Training Before Growth

To ensure success, the scheme emphasizes training through Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Jeevika groups. This training helps women learn how to manage money, handle customers, and grow their businesses. It is not just about giving funds; it is about equipping women with the skills to use them wisely.

Towards Bigger Goals

The ₹10,000 installment is only the beginning. Women who use these funds productively can later access up to ₹2 lakh in financial support. The long-term goal is to create thousands of “Lakhpati Didis” in Bihar — women who achieve financial independence and inspire others to follow their path.

Stories of Change

Across villages and towns, women are already discussing their plans. Some want to restart a tailoring unit, others dream of opening a small shop, and many see it as a chance to support their children’s education. These stories reflect resilience, determination, and the potential of Bihar’s women to redefine progress.
