अब घर बैठे मिले न्याय: Bihar Women Commission launches Online Complaint Filing from 19th September

When justice knocks on your door instead of you knocking on its gate, change feels real. Bihar Women Commission has taken such a bold step. Starting 19th September, women across Bihar can register their complaints online without traveling to Patna.

This initiative, launched on the 24th Foundation Day of the Commission, is a historic stride toward making justice faster, fairer, and more accessible.

A Digital Lifeline for Women in Bihar

Till now, women had to reach the Commission office in Patna to file complaints. For those from remote villages, the journey often meant financial stress and emotional struggle.

Now, with the new online process, this hardship ends. Women can simply visit the official website, fill in a digital form, and submit their grievance. This not only saves time and money but also ensures that no woman feels left behind.

How Will the Online Complaint Process Work?

The Commission Chairperson, Apsara Mishra, explained the process clearly. The system is designed to be as easy as filling out a student admission form online.

  • Women need to enter their name, address, mobile number, and case details.

  • They must provide the details of the person against whom they are filing.

  • A separate column lets them select the complaint category—domestic violence, dowry harassment, sexual harassment, property dispute, or others.

Finally, the woman can complete the process with a digital signature. This ensures authenticity and prevents fake or incomplete submissions.

Faster Action, Transparent Monitoring

The moment a complaint is filed online, the technical cell and relevant officers get notified. After a preliminary review, the complainant receives updates about the next steps.

Moreover, the digital process allows the Commission to maintain a record of every case. This enhances transparency, helps in monitoring, and ensures better follow-up.

With this, women no longer have to spend days traveling or waiting. Instead, their concerns get attention more quickly and efficiently.

Why This Change Matters Now

For years, women from distant districts faced difficulty reaching Patna. Some never came forward due to cost, time, or hesitation. This digital leap removes those barriers.

It also aligns with the Digital India mission, making governance inclusive and tech-driven. Importantly, it shows that Bihar is ready to empower women with practical solutions, not just promises.

A Step Dedicated to Women’s Dignity

Chairperson Apsara Mishra stated, “Many women hesitated to travel far and narrate their pain. Now, they can raise their voice from home. Our goal is that no woman should wander for justice.”

This reflects a deep commitment to accessibility and dignity. Justice, after all, should not be a privilege—it must be a right that reaches every doorstep.
