Patna just unlocked a new way to enjoy its beauty. Picture yourself on the upper deck of a stylish bus, the wind in your hair, while the Ganga flows beside you. This is no longer imagination—it’s the Double Decker Bus service on JP Ganga Path, and it promises an experience like never before.
The Bihar Tourism Department is turning JP Ganga Path into a major attraction. Now, visitors can travel from Tourism Ghat to Kangan Ghat along the scenic 15-kilometer stretch.
Today, Tourism Minister Shri Raju Kumar Singh inaugurated this service with great enthusiasm. At the same time, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) Managing Director Shri Nand Kishore welcomed him and highlighted the importance of this initiative.
This isn’t just a bus—it’s an experience crafted for tourists. The double decker has 40 seats: 20 comfortable air-conditioned seats below and 20 open-air seats above.
In addition, the bus offers modern facilities like a washroom and a fridge, which make the ride both practical and enjoyable. Moreover, a professional guide joins every journey. They share stories about Patna’s famous landmarks, ensuring travelers connect deeply with each destination.
The journey covers several cultural and historical highlights. While moving across the city, tourists can witness:
JP Ganga Path Golambar
Sabhyata Dwar
Darbhanga House
Mahendru Ghat
Gandhi Ghat
Law College Ghat
Mahatma Gandhi Setu
Chitragupt Temple
Kangan Ghat
Each spot adds a new layer to Patna’s story. Furthermore, the upper deck provides a perfect vantage point to enjoy uninterrupted river and city views.
Despite premium features, the fare remains pocket-friendly.
₹100 per person for a full round trip (Digha Rotary to Kangan Ghat and back).
₹50 per person for a one-way ride (Digha Rotary to Kangan Ghat or return).
Therefore, whether you are a tourist or a local, the service allows you to enjoy Patna’s charm without straining your budget.
Beyond regular sightseeing, this service offers something more meaningful. As you ride, the city’s skyline blends with the calm flow of the Ganga. Meanwhile, the guide explains stories that connect the city’s glorious past with its modern identity.
Importantly, this is more than just tourism. It’s Bihar’s way of reshaping how people see Patna—dynamic, cultural, and full of new experiences.
