राम की प्रेरणा, सीता की पहचान – Sitamarhi to Shine with Janaki Mandir’s Grand Beginning

Sitamarhi, the birthplace of Goddess Sita, is set to become the next spiritual landmark of India. In August, Punaura Dham will witness the foundation-laying ceremony of the new Janaki Mandir, modeled after the grandeur of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This development marks a cultural resurgence in Bihar and promises to transform Sitamarhi into a global spiritual hub.

 A Temple with Devotion, Not Just Design

Inspired by the architecture of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, this upcoming temple project will reflect divine elegance. The architectural responsibilities lie with M/s Design Associates Inc., the same agency that brought Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir to life.

In a powerful act of devotion, the agency has chosen to design the temple pro bono. According to the Tourism Department, the final architectural model will be ready by July, paving the way for a smooth construction rollout in August.

From 17 to 67 Acres – Expanding the Spiritual Canvas

Currently, the temple spans 17 acres, but Bihar’s vision goes beyond that. An additional 50 acres are being acquired to build a complete religious tourism ecosystem. The state government has already sanctioned ₹120 crore for this land acquisition.

The design will follow an “ODI model”, ensuring accessibility, beauty, and sustainability. With ample space and planning, Punaura Dham will welcome both devotees and curious travelers from around the world.

 Devotion in the Digital Age: Donate Online with Ease

In a first for the region, the temple will accept online donations, making it easier for devotees to contribute from anywhere.

Supporters can donate through:

• Online transactions

• RTGS

• Cash payments

Once the donation is received, the system will immediately generate a receipt. This will be sent via email or post, along with a visual of the temple model, creating a tangible emotional connection with every contributor.

Tourism Minister Raju Kumar Singh confirmed that a dedicated donation portal will go live soon, streamlining the process further.

More Than a Temple – A Movement Begins

This project is more than just construction. It’s a call to reclaim Bihar’s cultural narrative, revive tourism, and honor Maa Sita on her own land. With wide-scale development and global participation, Sitamarhi is set to shine again—this time as a symbol of spiritual strength and cultural pride.
