जब गाँवों तक पहुंचेगी पक्की सड़कें, तब चमकेगा बिहार!
In a historic move, the Bihar government has greenlit the construction and maintenance of 14,000 kilometers of rural roads under Gramin Path Yojana Phase-2. This decision, taken by the Cabinet, promises to bring a wave of progress to every corner of Bihar!
Under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sampark Yojana, the government will connect all settlements with populations over 100 across 38 districts.
Notably, earlier projects covered 8283 kilometers with NDB (New Development Bank) assistance. However, Bihar has now decided to fund the expanded 14,000-km project entirely from its own resources. This shows the state’s growing confidence and commitment to rural upliftment.
Thus, for countless villagers, dusty trails will soon be replaced by smooth roads!
The Cabinet has also revised rules for setting up petrol pumps in urban areas including Patna.
Now, petrol pumps can only be set up on plots adjoining roads that are at least 12.20 meters wide. Earlier, only highways and roads wider than 30 meters were permitted. This change ensures better access and urban convenience, reflecting smart planning for a growing city.
Two major fairs, Baba Ganinath Palvaiya Dham Mela (Vaishali) and Baba Sundarnath Dham Mela (Araria), have been officially added to the Bihar State Mela Authority.
Moreover, the Chaithi Durga Puja Mela in Khagaria’s Parbatta block has also joined the list. With this, Bihar strengthens its cultural roots while offering better facilities to visitors.
For uninterrupted connectivity, the Mukhyamantri Gramin Setu Yojana has been updated too.
Now, the Rural Works Department will handle bridges over 100 meters during construction, while Pul Nirman Nigam will take care of their maintenance. This ensures specialization and faster execution of projects.
