From Bihar to India’s First Cow Care Startup: The Inspiring Story of Gomini

In April 2025, two men from Bihar decided to do something that sounded almost impossible—help people in big cities own a cow.

At first, the idea seemed strange. How could someone living in a busy apartment in Delhi or Mumbai ever think of having an indigenous cow? But for Dr. Arjun Sharma and Gauri Shankar, this wasn’t just about milk. It was about restoring a bond India has slowly been losing—the sacred connection between humans, cows, and the village way of life.

And so, Gomini was born—India’s first managed cow care service platform, headquartered in Bihar.

Gomini Founders Dr. Arjun Sharma and Gauri Shankar: Remembering Their Roots

Both founders grew up seeing how deeply cows were woven into everyday rural life. They weren’t just animals; they were part of the family, symbols of prosperity, purity, and spiritual strength.

But in cities, that bond was fading. Modern families, caught in the rush of deadlines and traffic, were losing touch with this living heritage. Dr. Sharma and Shankar wanted to change that.

They asked a simple yet powerful question:
“What if every urban family could own a cow without leaving their city, while also giving rural women a chance to earn with dignity?”

How Gomini Blends Tradition With Technology

The idea took shape as Gomini, launched in April 2025. Here, an urban family can “own” an indigenous cow while a trained caretaker—usually a rural woman or farmer—takes care of it on their farm.

For the family, it means:

  • Pure A2 milk they can trust

  • Panchagavya wellness products rooted in Indian traditions

  • Access to village life experiences like cow worship, rural crafts, and spiritual retreats

For the caretaker, it means financial independence, respect, and empowerment.

But Gomini did not stop at tradition—it brought in technology:

  • Each cow is RFID-tagged and linked to an NFT, ensuring lifelong ownership records

  • IoT and AI systems track health and detect stress early

  • CCTV live streams connect families to their cows in real time

  • Soon, augmented reality will allow virtual interaction with cows from anywhere in the world

It’s an extraordinary blend of heritage and high-tech, creating trust and emotional connection.

Dr. Arjun Sharma’s Vision for Cow-Centric Villages

The larger dream of Dr. Arjun Sharma and Gauri Shankar is to build cow-centric villages. As herds grow, each village could house 500 cows, turning into:

  • Organic farming hubs free from chemicals

  • Self-reliant ecosystems

  • Employment engines for women and farmers

  • Sustainability models aligned with the United Nations’ global goals

In Dr. Sharma’s words:

“With Gomini, we aim to bring prosperity home by restoring the cultural, ecological, and economic significance of India’s indigenous cows. We want to reconnect urban families to their roots while empowering rural women with dignity.”

Bihar Startup Gomini Inspires a New Movement

Today, the Gomini app is live on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, already gaining interest from families across India. What started as a dream in Bihar is now inspiring a cultural revival, using cows as the bridge between cities and villages.

This is not just a startup story. It’s a story of roots and modernity walking hand in hand, showing how Bihar’s entrepreneurs are reshaping India’s future—one cow, one village, one family at a time.
